GreenSHIP INNOVATION AWARD
GreenSHIP Innovation Award is an annual award instituted by GreenSHIP to Honor, Recognize and Appreciate the most excellent and innovative idea(s) that can have a positive impact on the Maritime Industry. The award is presented to the most outstanding scientific and technological idea in the field of ship design, ship operation, marine application software, marine hydrodynamics, seakeeping, maneuvering, mooring, dynamics positioning system, shipping, ship building, logistics and marine experiment.
The primary objective of the award is to encourage and motivate students from Marine/Ship/Maritime and Ship Building Departments and Institutes across India to think out-of-the-box and come up with path breaking ideas that can revolutionize the industry in terms of Form, Functionality and Operations of marine vessels.
GreenSHIP is of the opinion that technology when rightly channelized and harnessed to full potential can bring great changes to any industry. Although, the maritime industry is apparently insignificant in comparison to booming industries like IT, it is surprisingly one of the most lucrative with an enviable turnover running into billions making it the number one in the world. A small effort and time well spent can reap huge benefits for all.
India is a land abounding in Intelligence, Talent and qualified Marine Engineers. But, ironically, the maritime industry is still in its nascent stage and sadly pales against countries like Japan, Korea, China and Europe.
The award is a catalyst and a trigger to condition and train young minds to be proactive and look into the horizon of a rising new future in Maritime – A future that positions the nation, globally as a ‘Leader in Maritime Engineering Solutions’.
GreenSHIP Innovation Award seeks to bridge the gap between Industry and Institutes by presenting a platform of opportunities for students to bring in their knowledge to be applied practically.
To qualify for the award, the idea(s) must be submitted to the panel of judges comprising of Industry Experts, Technocrats and Marine Engineers of great standing and experience. Three awards will be announced each year. The decision of the board remains final.
As the award is being instituted for the first time, the First award will carry a cash price of Rs 25,000. The second award will carry a cash price of Rs 10,000 and the third award carries a cash price of Rs 5000.
All participants get an ‘Appreciation Certificate’ for the interest and effort invested. GreenSHIP believes it will be a value addition to their careers.
